Morning drive from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou (about 8-9 hours). Stop at Dujiangyan Irrigation System, a 2,200-year-old UNESCO site. Continue through Wenchuan and Mao County, enjoying scenic mountain views. Arrive Jiuzhaigou in the evening.

Full day in Jiuzhaigou National Park. Explore all three valleys with the park bus. Highlights: Nuorilang Waterfall, Five Flower Lake, Pearl Shoal, Long Lake, and the Shuzheng Lakes.

Morning drive to Huanglong (about 2.5 hours). Hike or take the cable car up to see the spectacular travertine pools, including the Multi-Colored Pool at 3,576m. Afternoon: drive to Songpan ancient town. Overnight Songpan.

Morning explore Songpan ancient town, a historic trading post on the Tea Horse Road. After lunch, drive back to Chengdu (about 6-7 hours). Tour ends.
